Visits to Hospitalised Patients
Family and close friends of hospitalised patients are welcome. However, we recommend that anyone with a potentially contagious illness or symptoms such as cough, fever, or flu-like symptoms refrain from visiting in order to protect the patient.
If children visit, please ensure they respect the need for quiet of other patients in the room.
For your comfort and that of other patients, we strongly ask you to respect the visiting hours in place: from 2:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Please respect these hours and ensure the limit of a maximum of two visitors at a time per patient is observed.
Special visiting hours apply in intensive care, paediatrics, and the Psychiatry Institute:
- Intensive Care M and T (SIM & SIT) : from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- Intensive Cardiovascular Pathologies (CVI 1 & CVI 2): from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
- Paediatric Intensive Care (SIP) : from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm with one parent present at all times
- Neonatal Intensive Care (neonatology): parents are welcome 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Other visits are limited to a maximum of 2 extra visitors in addition to the parents.
- Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (Institut de Psychiatrie - N10): from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Maternity: visits are now limited to siblings and the co-parent. More information here.
To ensure quality care, please advise your visitors to leave the room during care or when healthcare professionals are visiting.
The toilets in patient rooms are off-limits to visitors. Public toilets are available near the lifts.
Flowers are welcome except in units and rooms of immunocompromised patients, and in acute care areas such as neonatology, intensive care, and the delivery suite. Potted plants are prohibited in all patient care areas.
Parent–Child Rooms
If your child is hospitalised in Unit 91 (children under two years old in general paediatrics, cardiology, neurology, and surgery), you may stay alongside your child in a so-called “parent–child room”. Each room has a folding bed, a recliner chair, and a shower area, allowing one parent to stay; the other parent may stay at Le Roseau.
